Heber C Kimball was inspired to go to the small villages of the Ribble Valley. One was Downham which has been preserved and looks exactly as it did 150 years ago. It is a wonderful little hamlet owned by Lord and Lady Clitheroe the the homes and flats rented out. It is a good base for walkers to start their treks through the countryside. We will miss out regular visits.
